The Beauty-Way with Darryl Slim

Join us for an evening in ceremony and conversation with Darryl Slim, traditional community ceremonialist, healer, and medicine-carrier in the Diné (Navajo) Beauty-Way lineage of his grandparents, Danny and Aurora Joe. With support from our community partners , Therese Jornlin and Andrew Forsthoefel, Darryl will open up a ceremonial space for all participants to connect with themselves and their own lineages from within the ancient container of his altar. Darryl will offer wisdom teachings, stories, and songs from the Diné cosmology to guide the ceremony, and Therese and Andrew will facilitate questions to prompt Darryl's unique perspective on the questions: What does it mean to be indigenous? What is cultural appropriation? What does it mean for modern people to decolonize their minds and hearts? And how can the ancient teachings of certain wisdom traditions and cultural heritages serve as a guide through the conflicts and confusion of this current historical moment?

Cost- Free, with a suggested donation $20-50 to directly support the gift of Darryl's presence and teachings.
