Psychedelic Studio: Spiritual Bypassing in the Psychedelic Landscape

Welcome to the Psychedelic Studio series! Join us in conversation as we explore the intersection of spiritual bypassing and psychedelics featuring Riverbird therapist, Shauna Sedler and interfaith chaplain, death/grief worker, and a Fireside Project psychedelic coach, Annick McIntosh. Spiritual bypassing is the use of spiritual beliefs or practices to avoid dealing with pain or unresolved wounds. In American culture, spiritual bypassing is often normalized and can go unacknowledged or, if identified, judged harshly. This makes it difficult to address the potential harms, which can be even further amplified by psychedelics. By appreciating the fundamentally protective role of this form of bypassing, we will attempt to shed light on and tend to this shadow through a compassionate and nonjudgmental lens.

Come be part of this conversation and this growing community of people interested in exploring the nature of consciousness & healing with a stance of curiosity and wonder.

NOTE: This is a community-building donation-based event. Suggested donation $20 to support nonprofit's mission for building community around consciousness change.
